Mano_arancio Therapeutic approach

The school offers a four year training in INDIVIDUAL, COUPLE and FAMILY psychotherapy (2000 hours).
Our therapeutic approach is based on the systemic tradition started by Gregory Bateson and the Palo Alto Group more than fifty years ago. It is an approach characterised by attention to subjectivity while also drawing on some contributions from clinical cognitivism.
Emotions, feelings, explanatory schemes, semantic polarities and individual belief systems are as central to the approach of the school as are interactions, relations and conversational processes within the family.
The school maintains a strong interest in pragmatics and builds on the idea of emotions being at the heart of semantics.
Attention to psychopathology and the attempt to develop a specific treatment tailored for each kind of psychopathology are also fundamental to the training approach of the school.
